• Sloped track arms
• Tailored welt trim

This combination makes the sectional adaptable to both relaxed family rooms and more polished living spaces.

• Suitable for transitional interiors

The fabric upholstery also contributes to the softer, more inviting character of the Oversized Gray Fabric Sectional.

Oversized Seating for Shared Comfort

One of the defining characteristics of the Mayfield is its oversized seating.

The generous configuration provides room for multiple people to gather comfortably.

Oversized Seating Works Well For

• Family gatherings
• Everyday lounging
• Hosting guests
• Movie nights
• Casual conversations
• Shared relaxation
• Entertainment spaces

For households that use the living room as a primary gathering space, generous seating can be more practical than several disconnected pieces.

Reversible Back Pillows

Reversible back pillows add useful flexibility to the Mayfield design.

Benefits of Reversible Back Pillows

• Allows both sides to be used
• Makes routine furniture care easier
• Helps distribute regular wear
• Provides placement flexibility
• Supports a relaxed upholstered appearance
• Complements the reversible seating concept

Periodically rotating reversible cushions and pillows can help distribute everyday use more evenly.

T-Seat Cushions

The Mayfield uses T-seat cushions as part of its seating design.

The shape follows the profile around the arm area, creating a fitted appearance while maintaining the sectional’s soft upholstered character.

T-Seat Cushion Benefits

• Tailored visual profile
• Fits around the arm structure
• Complements transitional styling
• Works with the oversized seating
• Creates a defined cushion appearance

Together with the reversible back pillows, the T-seat cushions contribute to the Mayfield’s balance of structure and softness.

High-density foam provides the supportive foundation of the seating.

High-Density Foam Features

• Supportive cushioning
• Designed for regular seating
• Complements oversized proportions
• Supports everyday relaxation
• Works within the upholstered cushion design
• Adds structure beneath the seating surface

The Oversized Gray Fabric Sectional combines this supportive foam with plush back pillows for a layered seating experience.

Sloped Track Arms

The Mayfield uses sloped track arms rather than heavily rolled or highly decorative arm profiles.

Sloped Track Arm Benefits

• Clean visual lines
• Softer profile than straight box arms
• Works with transitional styling
• Frames the seating area
• Complements the oversized proportions
• Adds visual structure without excessive ornamentation

The subtle slope gives the arms a more relaxed appearance while maintaining a tailored silhouette.

Welt Trim Detailing

Welt trim adds definition around selected upholstered edges.

Welt Trim Adds

• Tailored finishing
• Visual definition
• Subtle detailing
• A more polished appearance
• Contrast between soft cushions and structured lines

This type of detailing works particularly well in transitional furniture because it adds refinement without making the sectional overly decorative.

Accent Pillows Included

Accent pillows are included with the Mayfield sectional.

Accent Pillows Can

• Add extra softness
• Support casual lounging
• Introduce visual variation
• Complement the gray upholstery
• Complete the layered seating appearance

The included pillows help create the inviting, comfortable presentation intended for the Oversized Gray Fabric Sectional.

Gray as a Flexible Interior Color

Gray furniture can work with a wide range of surrounding colors and materials.

Pair the Mayfield With

• White
• Cream
• Beige
• Black
• Natural wood
• Dark wood
• Navy
• Green
• Warm brown
• Metallic accents

Changing pillows, rugs, artwork, or accessories can alter the room’s overall color direction without replacing the sectional.

Styling the Mayfield Gray Sectional

The Mayfield’s transitional design supports multiple decorating approaches.

Styling Ideas

• Add a large neutral area rug
• Pair with a wood coffee table
• Use black accents for stronger contrast
• Introduce warm-toned accessories
• Add greenery for natural color
• Use layered lighting
• Coordinate with upholstered accent chairs
• Keep surrounding furniture proportional to the sectional

The Oversized Gray Fabric Sectional can function as the visual anchor while smaller décor pieces establish the room’s individual character.

Create a Warm Living Room

Gray does not have to create a cool interior.

Add Warmth With

• Walnut furniture
• Natural oak
• Cream textiles
• Beige rugs
• Warm white walls
• Brown leather accents
• Brass-toned details

These elements can soften the gray upholstery and create a warmer transitional room.

Create a Cooler Contemporary Look

The Mayfield can also move in a more contemporary direction.

Consider Pairing It With

• Black furniture
• White walls
• Charcoal accents
• Glass surfaces
• Cool-toned metal
• Blue accessories
• Minimalist lighting

The clean lines of the sloped track arms help the sectional adapt to this approach.

Build a Family-Friendly Seating Area

An oversized sectional often becomes the primary gathering point in a living room.

Plan Around

• A properly sized coffee table
• Clear walking routes
• Side tables within reach
• Adequate lighting
• Television viewing angles
• Additional accent seating if required
• Space for everyday movement

The goal is to take advantage of the Mayfield’s generous seating without making the room difficult to navigate.

Plan for an Oversized Sectional

Because the supplied description identifies the Mayfield as oversized, room planning is important before ordering.

Check

• Available floor space
• Wall lengths
• Main walkways
• Coffee table clearance
• Door movement
• Window placement
• Television location
• Nearby furniture

Use the manufacturer’s confirmed dimensions for SM1249-SECT when determining the exact required floor space.

Measure the Delivery Path

Large upholstered furniture also requires sufficient clearance between the entrance and the final room.

Measure

• Exterior doors
• Interior doorways
• Hallways
• Staircases
• Elevators
• Landings
• Tight corners
• Final room entrance

Use confirmed component and packaging dimensions when determining delivery clearance.

Care & Maintenance

Regular upholstery care can help maintain the appearance of the Mayfield over time.

General Care Tips

• Vacuum fabric regularly with a soft upholstery attachment
• Remove loose dust and debris
• Blot spills promptly instead of rubbing
• Avoid harsh household cleaning chemicals
• Follow Furniture of America cleaning recommendations
• Keep sharp objects away from the upholstery
• Limit prolonged direct sunlight exposure
• Rotate reversible back pillows periodically
• Rotate reversible cushions when appropriate
