Gray Silver Tufted Bed – B1689 by McFerran

Gray Silver Tufted Bed B1689 by McFerran combines a tall wingback-style headboard, deep button tufting, and a gray-and-silver palette to create a bold bedroom centerpiece. Designed with modern glam influence, the bed uses its substantial 68-inch height and upholstered headboard detailing to establish a strong visual presence without depending on an overly complicated silhouette.

The supplied specifications identify the color as Silver and Gray and the construction material as solid wood. Three sizes are available: Eastern King, California King, and Queen, with dimensions provided for each configuration. While part of the supplied marketing copy refers to blue velvet, that conflicts with the product title and structured color specification for this B1689-EK/CK/Q version. For accuracy, this listing follows the confirmed gray-and-silver information and does not characterize the upholstery as blue or velvet. For shoppers seeking a tall upholstered focal point with a glam aesthetic, the Gray Silver Tufted Bed offers a distinctive McFerran option.

Gray Silver Tufted Bed with a Tall Wingback Headboard

The B1689 is built around a prominent upholstered headboard that gives the bed much of its character.

Key Features

• Gray and silver color combination
• Tall headboard
• Wingback-style profile
• Deep button tufting
• Upholstered headboard
• Solid wood construction
• Modern glam influence
• 68-inch overall height
• Eastern King available
• California King available
• Queen available
• McFerran B1689 design

The Gray Silver Tufted Bed is especially suited to rooms where the bed is intended to serve as the primary visual anchor.

Tall 68-Inch Headboard

At 68 inches high in all three supplied sizes, the B1689 creates considerable vertical presence.

A taller headboard can help visually anchor the bed against a large wall, particularly in bedrooms with generous proportions.

The height also provides more room for the tufted treatment to become a prominent part of the overall design.

Wingback-Style Profile

The headboard incorporates a wingback-style silhouette.

The side sections help frame the upholstered center and give the Gray Silver Tufted Bed a more dimensional appearance than a completely flat panel headboard.

This design language is frequently associated with more substantial upholstered furniture and works particularly well with the B1689’s deep button tufting.

Deep Button Tufting

Button tufting creates recessed points across the upholstered headboard, producing visible depth and texture.

The deeper treatment gives B1689 a more formal, decorative appearance than a plain padded headboard.

The Headboard Combines

• Tall proportions
• Wingback styling
• Upholstery
• Deep button tufting
• Gray and silver tones

Together, these features create the primary glam element of the bed.

Gray and Silver Color Combination

The supplied structured specifications identify the B1689 color as:

Silver, Gray

This combination allows the bed to work naturally within cool neutral interiors.

Consider Pairing It With

• White
• Ivory
• Light gray
• Charcoal
• Black
• Soft taupe
• Silver accents

Lighter textiles can create contrast, while darker gray or charcoal accessories can produce a more dramatic bedroom palette.

Clarifying the Supplied Color Information

The supplied product title identifies this model as the B1689-EK/CK/Q Tufted Gray and Silver Bed, and the structured color specification states Silver, Gray.

A separate section of the marketing description refers to a blue headboard.

Because these details conflict, this product page follows the more specific model-level gray-and-silver information.

The B1689 should not be marketed as blue unless McFerran confirms that the exact SKU being sold has blue upholstery.

Upholstery Material Should Be Confirmed

The supplied marketing copy also describes the headboard as velvet.

However, because that statement appears alongside the conflicting blue color description, the exact upholstery textile should be confirmed before describing this particular gray-and-silver version as velvet.

For accuracy, this listing refers to an upholstered headboard without assigning an unverified fabric type.

Solid Wood Construction

The supplied material specification identifies:

Material: Solidwood

Accordingly, the Gray Silver Tufted Bed can be described as using solid wood construction based on the provided product information.

The exact wood species was not supplied.

No specific claims should therefore be made about oak, pine, poplar, rubberwood, or another species without additional manufacturer documentation.

Modern Glam Bedroom Styling

B1689 balances a relatively straightforward bed frame with a more dramatic upholstered headboard.

Its glam character comes primarily from:

• Silver tones
• Gray upholstery
• Deep tufting
• Tall proportions
• Wingback shaping

This creates a statement-oriented design without requiring extensive carved ornamentation.

Eastern King Dimensions

The supplied Eastern King dimensions are:

82.5″ W × 89.5″ D × 68″ H

The 68-inch height reflects the tall headboard design, while the width and depth should be considered when planning surrounding furniture and walking space.

California King Dimensions

The supplied California King dimensions are:

82.5″ W × 93.5″ D × 68″ H

Compared with the Eastern King version, the California King has the same supplied width and height but extends farther in depth.

This configuration may be particularly relevant for shoppers who prefer the proportions of a California King mattress.

Queen Dimensions

The supplied Queen dimensions are:

66.5″ W × 89.5″ D × 68″ H

The Queen maintains the same 68-inch headboard height as both King configurations while reducing the overall width.

That allows the B1689 design to retain its tall visual presence in a smaller footprint.

B1689 Bed Dimensions

Size	Width	Depth	Height
Eastern King	82.5″	89.5″	68″
California King	82.5″	93.5″	68″
Queen	66.5″	89.5″	68″

Always compare the complete exterior dimensions of the Gray Silver Tufted Bed with the available room space rather than planning from mattress dimensions alone.

Choosing Between the Three Sizes

The correct configuration depends on both mattress preference and available floor space.

Eastern King

A strong option for bedrooms with enough width for the 82.5-inch exterior bed measurement.

California King

Provides the greatest supplied overall depth at 93.5 inches.

Queen

Reduces exterior width to 66.5 inches while preserving the full 68-inch headboard height and B1689 styling.

Measure the bedroom carefully before selecting a size.

Plan Around the Tall Headboard

The 68-inch height is an important consideration when positioning the bed.

Before ordering, check for:

• Windows
• Wall molding
• Low artwork
• Shelving
• Wall-mounted lighting
• Electrical fixtures

A clear wall can allow the tall tufted headboard to become the room’s main architectural focal point.

Keep the Tufting Visible

Because the headboard is one of the defining features of the B1689, bedding should not completely conceal it.

Very tall pillows or excessive layering can cover a significant portion of the tufted area.

A more controlled arrangement allows the Gray Silver Tufted Bed to retain the dramatic vertical effect created by its 68-inch height.

Coordinate with Light Bedding

White, ivory, and light gray bedding can provide clean contrast against the gray-and-silver palette.

This approach can also emphasize:

• Button tufting
• Headboard shape
• Silver details
• Wingback profile

Neutral bedding keeps the focus on the bed rather than introducing competing colors.

Create a Darker Glam Bedroom

For a more dramatic interior, B1689 can also coordinate with:

• Charcoal bedding
• Black accent furniture
• Dark gray rugs
• Metallic accessories

Using these elements selectively can reinforce the modern glam direction while maintaining visual separation between the furniture and surrounding décor.

Mattress Support Requirements

The supplied information does not specify whether the B1689 requires:

• A box spring
• A foundation
• A slat system
• Another mattress-support setup

Confirm McFerran’s current support requirements for the selected size before purchasing a mattress or foundation.

Do not infer support requirements solely from the bed’s upholstered design.

Confirm What Comes with the Bed

This listing is specifically for the B1689-EK/CK/Q Tufted Gray and Silver Bed by McFerran.

Before ordering, confirm the included components for the selected size.

These may include the headboard, footboard, rails, support components, and required assembly hardware according to the manufacturer’s current packaging.

Mattress, foundation or box spring if required, bedding, nightstands, dresser, mirror, chest, and decorative accessories should be considered separate unless explicitly included in the selected package.

Measure the Bedroom Before Ordering

The supplied dimensions make room planning more precise.

Check

• Available wall width
• Total floor depth
• Walking clearance
• Nightstand placement
• Closet access
• Door movement
• Window location
• Clearance around nearby furniture

For Eastern King and California King configurations, remember that the complete exterior width is 82.5 inches.

Measure the Delivery Route

A 68-inch-tall headboard can require careful delivery planning.

Before ordering, measure:

• Exterior doors
• Interior doors
• Hallways
• Staircases
• Elevators
• Landings
• Tight corners
• Bedroom entrance

Current carton dimensions should also be confirmed if access to the bedroom is restricted.

Care & Maintenance

The Gray Silver Tufted Bed combines an upholstered headboard with solid wood construction and finished decorative surfaces.

General Care Guidelines

• Dust finished surfaces with a soft cloth
• Vacuum upholstered areas gently using a suitable attachment
• Address spills promptly
• Avoid oversaturating the upholstery
• Do not use harsh fabric cleaners without manufacturer approval
• Clean around tufted buttons carefully
• Avoid abrasive cleaners on silver-finished surfaces
• Keep sharp objects away from the upholstery
• Periodically inspect frame connections
• Check assembly hardware regularly
• Follow current McFerran care instructions

Because an upholstery cleaning code was not supplied, manufacturer guidance should take priority over general cleaning recommendations.
