Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed – Lucia by Coaster Furniture

Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed Lucia by Coaster Furniture uses height, texture, and contrast to create a distinctive upholstered bedroom centerpiece. Its 60.75-inch wingback headboard rises dramatically behind the mattress, with vertical fluting adding tailored dimension and shiny decorative trim introducing a polished accent around the upholstered design.

Soft 100% polyester velvet covers the bed and is available in Grey or Beige, giving shoppers a choice between a cooler neutral palette and a warmer bedroom look. A low footboard keeps the lower profile visually open, while hairpin-inspired metal feet add a subtle retro-modern detail. Construction incorporates upholstery, foam, MDF, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), and metal components, with additional support legs contributing to the bed structure. Available in Queen and Eastern King sizes, the Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed is designed for bedrooms where the headboard is intended to serve as the primary visual focal point.

• 60.75-inch overall height
• Tall wingback headboard
• Vertical fluted upholstery
• 100% polyester velvet
• Grey or Beige color options

The Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed creates its visual impact through proportion and upholstery rather than heavy carved detailing.

Tall Wingback Headboard

The 60.75-inch headboard is the centerpiece of Lucia.

Its height draws attention upward and gives the bed a substantial presence against the bedroom wall.

Wingback sides frame the upholstered center, reinforcing the headboard’s architectural shape and creating more depth than a simple flat rectangular panel.

Vertical Fluted Upholstery

Lucia uses vertical fluting instead of traditional button tufting.

The repeated vertical sections add texture and emphasize the height of the headboard.

This creates a cleaner contemporary appearance while retaining the softness associated with fully upholstered bedroom furniture.

The Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed is therefore a useful option for shoppers who want noticeable upholstery detail without deep button tufting.

100% Polyester Velvet

The supplied upholstery specification identifies the velvet as 100% polyester.

Its soft surface contributes to the bed’s richer visual character while interacting with surrounding light differently than a flat woven fabric.

No stain-resistant, waterproof, or performance-fabric treatment was supplied, so those properties should not be assumed.

Grey Velvet Option

Grey gives Lucia a cooler and more contemporary appearance.

It can coordinate naturally with:

• White
• Silver tones
• Charcoal
• Black
• Light grey
• Cool beige

The Grey version can work especially well when the bedroom uses metallic or monochromatic accents.

Beige Velvet Option

Beige creates a warmer interpretation of the same design.

Potential coordinating colors include:

• Cream
• Ivory
• Taupe
• Warm white
• Brown
• Muted metallic tones

This version can soften the dramatic proportions of the tall headboard while maintaining Lucia’s statement-making profile.

Shiny Decorative Trim

Reflective trim adds definition to the headboard.

Rather than relying entirely on the velvet texture, Lucia introduces a polished decorative accent that catches surrounding light and visually separates sections of the upholstered design.

The exact trim material and metallic composition were not supplied, so it should be described as shiny decorative trim rather than a specific metal or plating.

Low-Profile Footboard

The footboard remains relatively low compared with the dramatic headboard.

This creates a deliberate contrast in proportion.

The lower front profile helps:

• Keep sightlines more open
• Emphasize the tall headboard
• Reduce visual weight at the foot of the bed
• Maintain a streamlined lower silhouette

The result is a bed that feels dramatic from the headboard without enclosing the entire mattress in equally tall panels.

Hairpin-Inspired Metal Feet

Hairpin-inspired feet introduce a subtle retro influence.

Their slender profile visually lifts the lower portion of the bed and contrasts with the softness of the velvet upholstery.

Metal is included in the supplied construction information, but the exact metal type and finish of these feet were not provided.

They should therefore not be described as steel, chrome, stainless steel, or another specific material without manufacturer confirmation.

Upholstery, MDF, LVL, and Metal Construction

Lucia uses mixed materials.

The supplied construction includes:

• Upholstery
• Foam
• MDF
• Laminated veneer lumber (LVL)
• Metal components

This construction supports the upholstered design without requiring unsupported claims about solid wood.

The Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed should not be characterized as an all-solid-wood bed because that is not supported by the supplied material information.

Support Legs

Additional support legs are included in the bed construction.

These contribute support beneath the bed structure.

Exact placement, quantity, and individual load ratings were not supplied, so those details should not be inferred.

Follow current Coaster Furniture assembly instructions when installing all structural and support components.

Queen Dimensions

The Queen measures:

66.50″ W × 88.00″ D × 60.75″ H

The 66.50-inch exterior width extends beyond a standard Queen mattress because of the upholstered frame and wingback profile.

Use the complete exterior dimensions when planning the bedroom.

Eastern King Dimensions

The Eastern King measures:

82.50″ W × 88.00″ D × 60.75″ H

It maintains the same supplied depth and height as the Queen while increasing overall width by 16 inches.

This larger configuration creates an especially substantial presence and requires additional wall space.

Lucia Bed Dimensions

Both sizes retain the same dramatic 60.75-inch height.

Confirm Mattress Support Requirements

The supplied information describes Lucia as having a foundation-ready design, but it does not explicitly state whether a separate foundation or box spring is mandatory.

For that reason, the mattress-support requirement should be confirmed for the exact Lucia configuration before purchase.

Do not assume that the Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed is either foundation-free or foundation-required without current manufacturer confirmation.

Consider Mattress Height

Mattress height can have a noticeable effect on an upholstered statement bed.

An unusually tall sleep system can conceal more of the lower headboard and change the visible proportions of the vertical fluting.

Before selecting a mattress and any required support system, consider:

• Final sleeping height
• Headboard visibility
• Pillow height
• Desired amount of visible velvet
• Relationship between mattress and low footboard

This is particularly relevant because the headboard is the primary visual feature of Lucia.

Let the Headboard Remain the Focal Point

The 60.75-inch wingback headboard already creates significant visual impact.

It does not require a large amount of additional wall decoration to make the room feel complete.

Simple artwork or restrained accessories can keep attention on the vertical fluting and velvet texture.

Style the Grey Lucia Bed

For the Grey option, consider a palette built around:

• White bedding
• Charcoal accents
• Silver-tone accessories
• Black lighting
• Soft grey rugs

Different fabric textures can prevent a neutral grey bedroom from appearing flat.

Style the Beige Lucia Bed

For the Beige version, consider:

• Ivory bedding
• Cream blankets
• Taupe pillows
• Warm neutral rugs
• Natural wood accessories

These elements reinforce the warmer character of the upholstery while allowing the shiny trim to provide contrast.

Mix Soft and Reflective Materials

Lucia already establishes a useful design contrast between velvet and shiny trim.

You can repeat that concept elsewhere with:

• Upholstered seating
• Glass accessories
• Metallic lamps
• Soft area rugs
• Mirrored decorative details

Use reflective elements selectively so the Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed remains the primary statement piece.

Avoid Too Many Competing Textures

Velvet and vertical fluting already provide substantial texture.

Highly patterned bedding, heavily textured walls, and multiple reflective finishes used together can compete with the headboard.

A more controlled selection of bedding and accessories usually allows Lucia’s architectural upholstery to stand out more clearly.

Plan for the Wingback Width

Wingback beds require careful wall planning because the headboard extends visually around the sleeping area.

Before ordering, consider:

• Wall width
• Nightstand spacing
• Wall outlets
• Light switches
• Windows
• Sconces

Use the full 66.50-inch Queen or 82.50-inch Eastern King exterior width rather than mattress width when planning placement.

Confirm What Comes with the Bed

This listing is specifically for the Lucia Velvet Wingback Bed by Coaster Furniture.

Confirmed bed features include the fluted wingback headboard, polyester velvet upholstery, shiny trim, low footboard, hairpin-inspired metal feet, and support legs.

The mattress, any required mattress foundation or support components not explicitly included, nightstands, dresser, mirror, bench, bedding, lamps, rugs, and decorative accessories should be considered separate unless the selected package specifically states otherwise.

Measure the Delivery Route

Lucia’s tall upholstered headboard makes delivery planning important.

Before ordering, measure:

• Exterior doors
• Interior doorways
• Hallways
• Staircases
• Elevators
• Landings
• Tight turns
• Bedroom entrance

If access is restricted, confirm current package dimensions for the Queen or Eastern King configuration.

Care & Maintenance

The Fluted Velvet Wingback Bed combines polyester velvet, foam, MDF, LVL, and metal components.

• Vacuum velvet gently with a suitable upholstery attachment

• Avoid oversaturating the upholstery
• Do not use harsh cleaners without manufacturer approval

• Protect shiny trim from abrasive cleaners
• Dust metal feet gently
• Avoid dragging the bed by its upholstered frame
