Velen Bed CM7949BK By Furniture of America

Black Leatherette Tufted Bed – Velen CM7949BK

Black Leatherette Tufted Bed Velen CM7949BK by Furniture of America combines a fully upholstered black frame with button tufting and diamond-like acrylic buttons across the headboard. The dark leatherette upholstery gives the bed a clean contemporary appearance, while the reflective button details create contrast across the tufted surface.

The upholstery continues around the frame rather than appearing only on the headboard, giving the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed a more unified appearance. Furniture of America lists leatherette, solid wood, wood veneer, and other materials within the supplied construction specifications. A slat kit is included, and Velen is available in five sizes according to the supplied product description.

Matching case goods continue the collection’s straightforward contemporary direction with clean lines and simple silhouettes. For shoppers looking for a dark upholstered centerpiece without an overly elaborate frame, the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed combines a streamlined shape with controlled decorative detailing.

Black Leatherette Tufted Bed with a Fully Upholstered Frame

Velen uses black leatherette across its upholstered surfaces to create a consistent look from the headboard through the frame.

• Fully upholstered frame

• Diamond-like acrylic buttons
• Slat kit included
• Available in five sizes
• Solid wood included in supplied materials

The Black Leatherette Tufted Bed relies on upholstery and tufting rather than carved woodwork, integrated lighting, or ornate molding.

Button-Tufted Headboard

Button tufting gives the headboard additional depth and breaks up the large black upholstered surface.

The recessed pattern is accented by diamond-like acrylic buttons, creating reflective points across the headboard.

This detailing gives the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed a more decorative appearance while maintaining its relatively simple silhouette.

Diamond-Like Acrylic Buttons

Furniture of America specifies diamond-like acrylic buttons within the tufted headboard.

These are decorative acrylic accents and should not be interpreted as genuine diamonds, crystals, or gemstones.

Against the black leatherette, the reflective buttons provide:

• Visual contrast
• Definition within the tufting
• Small reflective accents
• Additional headboard detail

Their placement allows the headboard to stand out without introducing another major color.

Fully Upholstered Black Frame

The bed is described as having a fully upholstered frame.

This creates visual continuity between the headboard and lower bed structure rather than combining an upholstered headboard with exposed wood rails.

For shoppers specifically looking for an upholstered bedroom centerpiece, this is one of the defining characteristics of the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed.

Leatherette Upholstery

The supplied material is leatherette, not genuine leather.

Leatherette creates a smooth leather-inspired appearance while remaining a distinct upholstery material.

The exact material composition, backing, thickness, and manufacturer cleaning code were not included in the supplied specifications.

Always follow Furniture of America’s current care instructions before applying upholstery cleaners or conditioning products.

Contemporary Styling

Furniture of America classifies Velen as Contemporary.

The design supports that classification through:

• Straightforward lines
• Black monochromatic upholstery
• Fully upholstered construction
• Geometric button tufting
• Reflective acrylic accents
• Simple coordinating case goods

The Black Leatherette Tufted Bed therefore works well for shoppers who want decorative headboard detailing without moving into a heavily traditional furniture style.

Solid Wood and Wood Veneer Construction Materials

Furniture of America’s supplied material list includes:

• Leatherette
• Solid wood
• Wood veneer
• Other materials

This means solid wood and wood veneer are incorporated into the product construction.

It does not mean the entire internal structure is made exclusively from solid wood.

The specific wood species and exact location of each construction material were not provided.

Slat Kit Included

A slat kit is included with Velen CM7949BK.

The slats form part of the mattress-support structure and are an important functional component of the bed.

Before choosing a mattress, confirm:

• Slat spacing
• Center-support configuration
• Mattress compatibility
• Recommended mattress thickness
• Any additional support requirements

The supplied specifications do not explicitly state whether an additional foundation is required, so this should be confirmed from current Furniture of America documentation.

Available in Five Sizes

Furniture of America’s supplied description states that Velen is available in five sizes.

This provides flexibility for different bedroom layouts and mattress requirements.

The exact five sizes and their corresponding dimensions were not included in the supplied information. Check the current manufacturer specifications for the exact Velen configuration being purchased.

Style the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed with Light Bedding

Black upholstery creates immediate contrast against lighter bedding.

Consider:

• White
• Ivory
• Cream
• Light gray
• Soft beige

Light bedding can also make the tufting and acrylic button details more noticeable.

Create a Darker Bedroom Palette

For a more dramatic bedroom, the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed can be paired with darker textiles.

Consider:

• Charcoal
• Deep gray
• Black
• Navy
• Dark green

Using different textures can prevent a darker palette from appearing visually flat.

Add Controlled Metallic Accents

The diamond-like acrylic buttons already introduce small reflective details into the headboard.

Silver-tone or other restrained metallic accessories can coordinate naturally with these accents.

Keeping additional reflective décor controlled allows the tufted headboard to remain the primary decorative feature.

Matching Velen Case Goods

Furniture of America describes the matching Velen case goods as continuing the simplicity of the bed through straight lines and simple silhouettes.

This helps maintain a consistent contemporary direction across the bedroom.

Specific drawer construction, storage features, hardware materials, or other case-good specifications were not supplied and should be confirmed separately.

Consider Mattress Height

The headboard tufting is an important part of the Black Leatherette Tufted Bed, so mattress height can affect the final appearance.

A particularly thick mattress setup may cover more of the lower headboard.

Compare your planned mattress height with Furniture of America’s current headboard dimensions before ordering.

Confirm Available Dimensions

Exact dimensions were not included in the supplied specifications.

For the selected Velen size, confirm:

• Overall width
• Overall length
• Overall height
• Headboard height
• Headboard width
• Footboard dimensions
• Mattress opening
• Slat spacing
• Floor clearance

Use current Furniture of America specifications rather than estimating from product images.

Measure the Bedroom Before Ordering

Because Velen is available in multiple sizes, room planning should be based on the complete exterior dimensions of the selected bed.

Measure:

• Available wall width
• Floor length
• Walking clearance
• Nightstand space
• Closet access
• Door clearance
• Window placement

Do not use mattress dimensions alone to estimate how much floor space the complete bed will require.

Measure the Delivery Route

The upholstered headboard and frame components must also fit through the route leading to the bedroom.

Check:

• Exterior doors
• Interior doorways
• Hallways
• Staircases
• Elevators
• Landings
• Tight turns
• Bedroom entrance

Compare these measurements with current manufacturer component or packaging dimensions when available.

Care & Maintenance

The Black Leatherette Tufted Bed requires regular upholstery care to maintain its appearance.

General Care Guidelines

• Remove surface dust with a soft cloth
• Address spills promptly
• Avoid oversaturating the leatherette
• Do not use abrasive brushes
• Avoid harsh chemicals unless manufacturer-approved
• Clean around tufting carefully
• Avoid pulling or striking the acrylic buttons
• Keep sharp objects away from upholstered surfaces
• Protect the frame from prolonged moisture
• Periodically inspect the slat system
• Check assembly hardware regularly
• Follow Furniture of America’s current care instructions

Manufacturer guidance should always take priority over general leatherette cleaning recommendations.
